UPSI Hosts FIM UPS STEM Workshop 1: STEM Digital Explorer to Inspire Future Innovators

Tanjung Malim, 26 October 2023 – Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) successfully organized the FIM UPS STEM Workshop 1: STEM Digital Explorer, a dynamic and interactive workshop aimed at fostering interest and skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) among students.

Held at C-Learning 16, Bangunan C-Learning, UPSI, the workshop brought together participants for a hands-on learning experience focused on emerging technologies and creative problem-solving. The program is part of a broader initiative under ICSTEM UPSI 2023, reflecting UPSI’s ongoing commitment to advancing STEM education at both national and international levels.

The workshop was made possible through strategic collaboration with industry and education partners, including Creative Minds Education, Yayasan TM, TM Future Skills, and Bosch. This partnership highlights the importance of industry-academia collaboration in equipping students with real-world, future-ready skills.

Participants engaged in a variety of exciting STEM-based activities centered around robotics development, where they enhanced their problem-solving and engineering skills through hands-on design and programming tasks. In addition, LEGO-based learning activities encouraged creativity and innovation through structured play, allowing participants to explore concepts in a fun and interactive way. The workshop also introduced 3D printed and customizable body design, providing students with exposure to digital fabrication and prototyping technologies, and helping them understand how modern engineering solutions are developed from concept to physical product.

The STEM Digital Explorer workshop provided students with valuable exposure to cutting-edge tools and concepts, while also nurturing teamwork, critical thinking, and innovation. Through guided activities and mentorship, participants were able to explore how technology can be applied to solve real-world challenges.

This initiative aligns with UPSI’s mission to cultivate a generation of learners who are not only academically competent but also technologically adept and innovative. By integrating practical STEM experiences with industry insights, UPSI continues to strengthen its role as a hub for educational excellence and innovation.
