From 15–18 September 2025, Muhammad Shafiq, founder of My STEM Institute under Creative Minds Education, led a STEM Edutourism Indonesia Programme that included 10 teachers from Malaysia. The goals of the initiative were to provide opportunities for STEM education between Malaysia and Indonesian students, enhance cross-cultural understanding, and encourage international academic collaboration.

The group arrived in Institut Teknologi Bandung, and more especially the Fakultas Teknologi Industri ITB, on September 15, 2025. The Dean, Prof. Ir. Tirto Prakoso, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D, was amenable to the visit. Discussions at the session centred on academic exchange, research possibilities, and possible cooperation in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education between the two nations.

As part of the “TIM Pertukaran Pelajar dan Guru-Guru Teladan Malaysia” initiative, the delegation visited SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Kota Bandung the next day, on September 16, 2025. Principal Drs. Ahmad Basyori M.Ag graciously hosted the visit. Participation in the event allowed for the dissemination of information, the swap of teaching strategies, and the consolidation of links between schools.

The group went to Jakarta Smart City on September 17, 2025, and exploring JSC Lab. Gaining exposure to the practical uses of STEM fields in urban development, the trip shed light on digital governance efforts, technological innovation frameworks, and Indonesia’s smart city ecosystem.

As a symbolic act to enhance cultural and educational links between the two countries, the team also visited the Jakarta Library at Taman Ismail Marzuki, where a Malaysian Identity Book was presented and donated.

My STEM Institute’s STEM Edutourism Indonesia Programme 2025 is an example of their dedication to strengthening international cooperation in STEM education, increasing educator agency, and broadening worldwide networks.
