My STEM Institute signs MoU with Universiti Malaya’s Center of Ionic (CIUM) to Advance Research and Talent Development

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – My STEM Institute has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Center of Ionic, Universiti Malaya (CIUM), marking a significant milestone in strengthening collaboration between academia and industry within Malaysia’s STEM ecosystem. This strategic partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing research excellence, fostering knowledge exchange, and creating meaningful opportunities for students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Through this MoU, both institutions will work together on joint research initiatives that encourage the exchange of expertise, technical knowledge, and innovative ideas. By aligning academic research strengths with industry needs, the collaboration aims to accelerate applied research, enhance real-world impact, and contribute to the nation’s growing science and technology landscape.

The partnership also emphasizes talent development, particularly in providing structured opportunities for students to engage in Final Year Projects (FYP), research collaborations, and internship placements. Currently, My STEM Institute hosts approximately seven interns from UM across its STEM programs, offering hands-on industry exposure and practical learning experiences. With CIUM’s involvement, these initiatives are expected to expand further, enabling students to gain deeper research exposure and professional development in a dynamic environment.

By bridging research capabilities with industry application, this collaboration strengthens pathways in education, innovation, and workforce readiness. Together, My STEM Institute and the Center of Ionic, Universiti Malaya are committed to nurturing future-ready talent and driving impactful advancements that support Malaysia’s long-term STEM growth and innovation agenda.
